Introducing ahf contract® Nod to nature® usa: 2.5MM dry back & 4.5mm loose lay domestically made lvt
January 13, 2025
Mountville, Pa., January 13 – AHF Contract® Nod to Nature® is a new and captivating U.S.-made, with global and domestic content, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) collection that seamlessly blends the beauty of the natural world with impressive performance. Inspired by the organic elegance found in nature, the 2.5 mm Dry Back & 4.5 mm Loose Lay LVT captures the essence of wood grains, stone textures, and textile-inspired patterns. These floors are ideal for use in healthcare, assisted living, education, corporate, hospitality, retail, and institutional interiors.
“The 4.5mm loose-lay is the toughest solution out there, with impressive static and dynamic indent performance that exceeds set standards. These thicker planks are sturdier and provide peak performance, even in challenging environments,” said Yon Hinkle, Vice President, AHF Products. “Plus the 4.5mm construction is perfect to mix and match floor transitions, especially from hard to soft surfaces.”
Nod to Nature USA 2.5mm Dry Back LVT also provides a robust and stable flooring option for commercial spaces. The dryback installation method ensures a secure and long-lasting fit. Importantly, the 2.5mm is fire rated for wall applications, providing an additional design and performance benefit.
The company’s exclusive EverNu™ finish, applied domestically on both the 2.5mm and 4.5mm products, not only provides resistance to scratches, scuffs, and stains, but makes it extremely easy to clean – very simple maintenance with damp mopping.
“While other products may suffer damage from heavy weight, with less than two percent residual indent on both the 2.5mm and 4.5mm, these floors offer over 3000 psi static load resistance—incredible, superior resistance,” Hinkle added.
“These products deliver a performance value proposition and an anti-scratch and anti-stain story. Add in ease of cleaning and great designs. With new Nod to Nature USA LVT, designers can choose from a broad selection of styles and colors to bring commercial spaces to life. Each is perfect for any high-traffic area,” said Hinkle.
Connection with the Environment, Versatile Designs
Nod to Nature USA is more than just flooring; it’s a nod to a deeper connection with the environment. On-trend designs favoring warmer, lighter, more cheerful colors support the principles of biophilic design. The full collection features 24 skus, with 18 Woods and six Stone/Textiles visuals. Every design is unique, specifically made, and designed for AHF Contract.
With all new hardwood, stone, textile and tile designs and colors, Nod to Nature offers a versatile range of styles to suit various preferences and design themes. These designs hit the sweet spot between cool and warm, light, and saturated, modern, and classic.
The wood visuals include four distinct woods: Garden Oak, 9 in. x 48 in., 2.5mm & 4.5mm; California Walnut, 6 in. x 48 in., 2.5mm; Bogart Oak, 6 in. x 48 in,. and 4.5mm Woodland Oak , 9 in. x 48 in., in both 2.5mm & 4.5mm.
Stones and Textiles include Textura, 18 in. x 36 in., 2.5mm; Urban Walk, 18 in. x 18 in., 2.5mm; and Impression, 12 in. x 24 in,. 2.5mm. All the non-wood designs pair beautifully with the wood visuals from the collection. The Linen Whisper and Rainfall Grey designs are simple yet timeless. The Urban Walk stone visuals in white, clay and cloud grey bring an elegant sophistication to any space and come in modular 18 by 18 sizes. Finally, Impression, the striated abstract visual, adds balance and harmony to the collection.
“Our Nod to Nature USA collection celebrates the beauty found in the natural world, capturing an inherent warmth, harmony, and intrigue,” said Principal Designer Oxana Dallas. “The collection embodies the spirit of nature, fostering a dialogue that speaks to our inner harmony and creates timeless, calming spaces.”
The floors are FloorScore® certified, the most recognized indoor air quality (IAQ) certification standard for hard surface flooring materials, adhesives, and underlayments. Health Product Declaration (HPD) and third-party certified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) are available. The products carry a 20-year commercial limited warranty. Customers can now extend any warranty by using the Strong System™ Subfloor Preparation Products, a collection of subfloor preparation products suitable for the rigorous demands of commercial installations. Using the Strong System extends the AHF Contract Guaranteed Installation System warranty coverage and length by 10 years.
The Domestic Edge: U.S. LVT Production Offers Unique Benefits
AHF Products has invested more than $40 million in its U.S. plants, including in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania resilient plant. New capabilities as well as additional capacity were added to the facilities to make the products of tomorrow, including the new Nod to Nature USA collection.
“Our team stands ready to work with customers to provide the best flooring solutions from our own U.S. plants, which are tariff and duty-free,” said Fred Reitz, Vice President-Commercial, AHF Products. “Container costs, freight costs, unstable border issues, as well as the potential of increased tariffs on imports, enhances the value proposition of our domestically manufactured flooring, which includes not only LVT, but hardwood, vinyl sheet and ceramic tile,” said Reitz.
AHF Products offers a significant degree of certainty to serving customers with its strong domestic manufacturing capabilities and scale. This includes greater product control, faster lead time, lower transportation costs, predictable prices, and a domestically made story.
“Our customers benefit from AHF Products’ size, resources, design leadership and flooring expertise, and the extra benefit of working with a one-stop-shop,” said Reitz. “Investment in our people, processes, products, and facilities allows us to remain innovative and successful in this industry. This domestic production will continue to be an important investment in the face of rising costs.”
